Got my Buyers a GREAT DEAL!
I closed this week on a fantastic lot on the Westside of Kill Devil Hills, just a few homes off the Sound and blocks from the Ocean. The property was listed for 165K and we ended up purchasing the lot for 122k! The buyers paid much, much more for the homesite just a couple of years ago and strongly believe values will be back to that point in the next five years-point being, there are GREAT VALUES out there right now for buyers.
These folks are past clients that bought a home from my builder husband, Doug several years ago and plan to build a bit larger second home now for their family, which now includes college aged kids. For what these folks picked up this lot for, by the time they build, with labor and many material costs down so much, they'll be able to build exactly what they want for what an existing home would cost them.
And although building can be intimidating for the out-of-town client, we know how to to make the experience as low-stress and enjoyable as possible! Having just finished our personal home last year, I now understand why people joke about getting a divorce when the house is completed! All in good fun-we're looking forward to working with them to build their dream house so they too, can continue to live the beloved Outer Banks lifestyle.....
