Parade of Homes Starts This Thursday!
Thinking of building a new home or doing some remodeling? Then make plans to attend the Outer Banks Home Builders Association’s 17th Annual Parade of Homes. The event runs Thursday, October 8th thru Sunday, October 11th from 10 am to 6 pm daily. Twenty-eight homes are showcased from Corolla to Hatteras Island and feature the latest innovations in building products and best building practices. Tickets are $10 for all four days and will be available for purchase at each home or in advance at the Outer Banks Home Builders office on Airstrip Rd. Advance ticket sales for members of OBHBA and OBAR are also in progress at the discount price of $ 7.00. Additionally, any LOCAL Realtor may tour with only his or her business card for admission; however, if a Realtor is taking guests or clients, please purchase your discount tickets in advance for those people. Discount tickets are not available at the homes. The local food pantries will benefit from ticket proceeds. Go to www.obhomebuilders.org for more information or call 449-8232.

The 3rd Annual Duck Jazz Festival is scheduled for this weekend, Sunday, October 11, 2009 beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Duck Town Park on the gazebo stage. The event is free and open to the public and will be held rain or shine. It is sure to be a great time!
